Welcome!
I’m a clinical social worker based in Detroit and I work with adults in individual therapy across Michigan via telehealth. I specialize in treating anxiety and supporting folks identifying as neurodivergent or highly sensitive.
Before becoming a social worker I spent my twenties working with children and families navigating physical and developmental disabilities. It was through this work that I learned the importance of play--not just for kids, but for us adults, too!
I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and gender studies from Indiana University in 2012 and completed my master’s in clinical social work from the University of Michigan in 2018.
I take a holistic approach and specialize in integrating multiple modalities, including EMDR, ACT, and Polyvagal Theory.
I have a knack for helping people connect with their playful, curious sides, to find what’s needed for you to process emotions and get back into the flow of your life.
I often help:
- Socially-anxious animal lovers build confidence to forge new relationships.
- People navigating chronic pain and illness (re)connect with the wisdom of your body.
- Burnt out eldest daughters learn how to SLOW DOWN to find fulfillment outside of society’s (& your family’s) expectations.
Sessions with me can involve drawing, writing, or co-creating “Therapy Challenges” to try on your own between sessions. I love getting to know what makes you “tick” so we can make therapy something you look forward to.
Beyond coping skills, I help you develop personal discernment. To get there we first focus on making sure you feel seen and understood, and I always follow your pace.
I believe if you can trust yourself, you can create your own unique rituals, practices, and connections that make life worth living–even when it’s hard.
How do we accomplish that? By getting curious, acknowledging pain, and graciously putting down what no longer serves us.
